The main reason that most people struggle in MLM is that they have a lack of a consistent supply of quality people in which they can show their opportunity or products to. As a matter of fact, most people have no business experience when they join the MLM business and their MLM list is their initial list of people who they know. The list runs out in matter of weeks and their business doesn’t go anywhere, so they go out of business. For those who are brave enough to stay in the business, the only option left for them is go into the cool market.
Starting to operate in a cool market environment can be a horrifying experience for anyone who hasn’t done it before. That is quite normal, just like when you first rode on a bike or drove a car. With proper guidance and a lot of practice, doing it correctly, that is, you can overcome the challenge and produce great results … meaning you will have a never ending MLM contact list.
There are several different methods that you can operate in.
The first method is approaching people face to face in area like shopping mall, gas station, line up in shops, etc, get people’s phone number and put it on your MLM list. It is the oldest method people in network marketing use and teaches. It also called “Three foot rule”, which is to talk about your business or products to anyone who comes across within 3 feet. The problem with this method is that people are generally afraid of talking to strangers. We were told not to talk to strangers when we were younger, weren’t we? This is how we’ve been programmed up to this point. Because most people don’t have the training, they don’t know how to sell and they don’t want to sell. They don’t know what to say and how to say it. They have no idea in how to make connections and what questions to ask to get their prospect interested in their business or products.
There is no doubt that there are people who have been very successful in the business in building a huge MLM list by just operating using this method alone in the past, but the majority had failed.
